How to rotate video clips

Summary

You have turned your camera 90 degrees when taking a video clip. There is no way of rotating a clip in the standard video player applications.

One way of rotating your clip is to import the clip into Microsoft Movie Maker, rotate the clip and then publish the file in .WMV format.

 

Follow these instructions to rotate the clip:

Open 'Microsoft Movie Maker'

Import the video clip that you want to rotate:

 

Drag the clip from the list of clips to the storyboard/timeline

 

Open the 'Effects' list

 

 

Scroll down through the list of effects until you find the three 'Rotate' options (90, 180 & 270).

Drag the effect that you want to apply onto your clip in the storyboard/timeline:

Note*: The 'Rotate' effects act in a anti-clockwise direction. So 'Rotate 90' will turn your image 90° to the left.

 

You will have to publish your clip to save the change. Follow the instructions in the wizard:
