Unprotect Excel sheet/workbook

Go to this site: http://www.straxx.com/excel/password.html and download password.xla (save it to your desktop). If you have problems downloading the file from this link,  e-mail Barny and ask for a copy.

Open the Excel document that you need to unprotect and then double click on the password.xla icon on your desktop.

If you get a warning message, press 'Enable Macros'.

You will receive a confirmation box, press 'OK'.

In the Excel document, select 'Tools' => 'Unprotect sheet' (or workbook).

NOTE* The program creates a new option in the 'Tools' menu. You have to make sure that you select 'Tools' => 'Unprotect sheet' (or workbook), not 'Tools' => 'Protection' => 'Unprotect sheet' (or workbook).

You will receive a box informing you that the process is complete. Press 'OK'. The protection in your Excel sheet should be removed.

Delete the password.xla file from your desktop
